Kane dekes Vokoun to move Pittsburgh past stubborn Canucks
The Canucks hit the ice on Saturday in Pittsburgh hoping to keep their two game win streak intact. The Penguins just wanted to get back on the winning track.
For the first two periods it looked like neither team were interested in the two points up for grabs. After 40 minutes the shots were 16-12 in favor of the Canucks, with just three minor penalties between the two teams.
In the third stanza ex-Canuck John Tavares scored his 4th of the season, the first against his former team, the goal came at 10:07 assisted by Dan Hamhuis. The Canucks drew even on Manny "the man" Malholtra's first of the season at 12:24.
The game went to a shoot out with Patrick Kane beating Tomas Vokoun with a sick backhand between the legs drag move that had the Vancouver goalie motioning for a trainer after the goal.
Joey MacDonald won his first for the Pens, stopping 28 shots, while his counterpart Tomas Vokoun dropped to 8-4-1 while stopping 28 shots.
